Shorn lambskins come from lambs which have been shorn at least once. Shorn Lambskins have a wide range of uses which include, car seat covers, garments, shoe lining, underlays, footwear and carpets. Our shorn lambs are carefully classed for Density and we understand how important this is. Shorn lambskin season will usually go from December-August, depending on the season. Shorn lamb skin sizes are typically between 7.5-8.5 Sq Ft and the wool length can vary between %4-3.
Spring lambskins are skins from lambs that are not shorn yet. These skins are also known as “Suckers” and “New Season Lambskins”. Spring lambskins produced in Australia and are of the highest quality and used for premium products such as high quality Double face shoe’s and garments, decorator rugs, car seat covers, and dusters. Our spring lamb skins are carefully classed for seed content as we understand how important this is. Spring lambskins supply typically goes from August till December. Early season Spring lambs are seed free and are very white and clean in the wool as they still have the mother’s wool, this is ideal for double face products. The Dorper sheep is well known for its ability to adapt and survive in a variety of climatic and grazing conditions. The Dorper was originally bred from the more arid regions of South Africa in the 1930’s. Initially imported into Australia in the mid 1990’s, its suitability to a range of climatic conditions and low maintenance has seen the Dorper develop into one of the largest meat sheep breeds in Australia.
